Acne starting to show up in wierd places

Question:

I am starting to get lots of red pimples on my arms and chest and a few on my stomach and legs. What really annoys me is the arms. Why all of the sudden would i start getting pimples on my arms.???  Even on my forearms? I get them on my rearend me pubic area my legas.arms.chest,back,stomach, but not realy that bad on my face just blackheads there and the occasional pimple. thank god not on my wiener or hands or feet for that matter. But anyway i can put topical stuff on my whole fuckin body i would have to bath in any kind of topical treatment. Maybe it is the heat/humidity/sweat factor? Also on my arms they are pretty tan from sun but they still get infected….i guess the whole tanning thing may not be true. aaron

It is no problem to bathe in an antimicrobial treatment in the form of dandruff shampoo.  Find one containing pyrithione zinc (e.g. Zincon, DHS Zinc, the blue version of Head & Shoulders, or lots of generic competition for these) and use it as bath soap.  This stuff kills almost anything. — John Popelish

How large are they, how painful, etc?  If they’re small, 2mm around or so, and red, you may have Keratosis Pilaris, or something of the sort. In any case, I suggest soaking in a bath, washing with an antibacterial soap, and using a lotion such as Cetaphil, or another water based moisturizer. -Chris

They are pretty small in comparison to the ones on my back but the do get heads and pustuels etc. What is Keratosis Pilaris? I remember way back 3-4 years ago when i went to the derm i had a FEW on my arm and he told me that it was a staff infection. It looks like acne to me. Aaron

One wrinkle in this otherwise miracle cure of Zn Pyrithione is that (according to the cosmetic ingredients dictionary) act as a nerve damaging agent.  Now if it were to be absorbed and effect the wrong nerves, say around the groin or the lower back, this would definately be a no, no on its use. Is anyone besides the above reference familiar with this particular side effect of Zn Pyrithione?

All I know is that the people who manufacture this chemical refer to it as a biocide.  You can figure out what that means. — John Popelish
