How to clear pores on the nose?

Question:

Does anybody else know of a good sebolytic product that can easily remove sebum buildup clogging pores on your face, especially the nose area? I’m using salicylic acid soap bars but they’re not quite as effective as i would want them to be.

Response:

For some reason my nose pores seem to always have solid pus (for lack of a better term) in them. It’s not a zit, but when I squeeze them, the solid puss is forced out. I want to know if there’s a product out there which prevents the pus from forming in the first place.

Accutane helped me to get rid of it, but i would never use it if this were your only skinproblem.

I more interested in a preventative measure. Any help?

Response:

Biore strips don’t work?….u mean they don’t pull out anything at all, or do they pull out ’stuff" but they just keep coming back? if u still want to use biore strips, use your biore strips after showers(or steam your face a little with warm towel) and then use a toner that have slight alcohol content in it(which i believe shrink my pores). my nose is more clear than it used to be

Wow, until this message, I used to think that I was the only person in the world with the same condition. I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s mostly gone now that I’ve been using differin and antibiotics for about 6 months. If that’s the _only_ problem you have (i.e., no acne), then taking differin/antibiotics might be a bit drastic. Biore doesn’t really help with this. BP is mildly helpful, although I used to use it a lot before switching over and it never really got rid of it completely. Wish I could be of more help… -J Due to the enormous amount of spam being sent these days, I no longer use a valid email address on usenet.

It is not pus. It is sebum ("skin oil").  Some people have sebum that contains lots of non-viscous components. In effect, they have earwax being emitted from their nose/face sebum glands. I offer a soap that is specially formulated to dissolve this very thick sebum. It is only a soap, it does not have effects on the "inside" of the skin, like the meds that derms can prescribe. That said, a good sebolytic is a big step forward. A regime of many washings/day can do wonders. Email me if you are interested to receive a free sample. Resist the temptation to squeeze. That produces subsurface damage. Your body tries to clear those dead/damaged cells away by rushing white blood cells to the site to eat up the damage and then it is – actual pus. Alan Horowitz —
