Then i wouldnt feel so ugly Then I would have been good looking
The woman I loved last Jul/Aug had a bad complexion but she was beautiful anyway. Why can’t you be like her?
Response:
How old are you JP, and how long did you suffer with acne?
I’ll be 25 in a few weeks. I started with acne when I was about 13 ish. Went to the doctors for a year or 2 but nothing happened. Got referred to hospital and tried an experimental treatment, which didn’t work. Then got ruaccatane (see my other posts in the acne thread), which always works but at a price (side-effects and cost). Got rid of it when I was about 16, but the scars will always remain. The last time I went to the hospital they took a skin sample from a scar in my back to analyse, never heard from them again so I take it that means there is nothing they can do. — JP

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I wonder if this stuff would work for roseacia??? ok….both of you guys…have you checked into what the dermatology industry can do? Things have really advanced in the last five years. If I don’t pay super close attention and follow a strict pattern, I still break out like crazy, and every breakout leaves a scar. Retin-A cream reduces my breakouts down tremendously, AND slowly removes the scarring from the past. Plus, they now have laser re-surfacing that is very successfully in removing old scars. If that is too much, get over the counter alpha-hydroxy cream (the highest percentage you can find) or beta-hydroxy cream. Both of these encourage new skin growth, and help you shed the old, scarred skin…and keep new infections and breakouts from starting. it can make a big difference. jaz Then i wouldnt feel so ugly Then I would have been good looking Then I wouldnt have been so self conscious Then I wouldnt be so insecure Then I wouldnt be depressed My fault Is it your fault though? I suffered from severe acne as a teenager, and as a result my skin is horribly scarred, especially my face and shoulders. Absolutely nothing I could about it whatsoever, not that this makes me feel any better about it though. — JP — Mis …If a tree falls in the forest, does anybody hear… – Bruce Cockburn

Yes I have checked. There was some kind of treatment available, but it was very expensive and had a 20% success rate, failure made it worse. Besides, alot of my scars are not just visible marks, but unsightly lumps. There really is nothing I can do about it. The treatment I actually had from the hospital for my acne has an unfortunate side effect of scarring, which can be quite severe, as is my case. (admittidly this treatment was made known to me several years ago so things could have changed, even so there is no way I can afford it). — JP

Thanks Jaz Ive used many treatments, and have used laser, and will probably have more in the future. My skin is a lot better than before – but I want it to be perfect, which it will never be again.
Oh well – I have to accept it, and love myself all over again I guess. take care Lee * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find related Web Pages, Images, Audios, Videos, News, and Shopping. Smart is Beautiful

Thank you JP and Julia! When I say *my fault* I guess I wish I wasnt as sensitive to looks as I am now – it often makes me very insecure, and my depression doesnt make it any better – it partially contributed to my situational depression. Thank you both for your kind words. My girlfriend thinks I am very cute, and on the odd occasion when my skin aint so bad, Im more confident. People often tell me Im nice inside – and I think I realise this (blush) – but I do place a lot of emphasis on my external appearance – something I never used to until I got acne. you are a beautiful person Lee. don’t let anyone tell you any different. everyone tells me I have beautiful skin, but i have all these same feelings about myself that you have. beauty is deeper than skin, much deeper. I feel you have this deep beauty about you. You are just not seeing it, and its hard to see that about yourself, I know this personally. your a beautiful person Lee. repeat that to yourself a few times twice a day.
